Terms and Conditions & Practical Information
Welcome to Praktijk bij Fleur. This document explains how the practice works, and covers appointments, treatment, fees, payment, cancellations, privacy, complaints, and ending treatment. This information applies to services provided by Praktijk bij Fleur, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance.
Article 1 — Professional Standards
Praktijk bij Fleur is run by a drama therapist affiliated with the Dutch Association for Drama Therapy (NVDT), part of Vaktherapie Nederland. The therapist works according to the applicable code of conduct, professional guidelines, and quality requirements for the profession.
More information about Vaktherapie Nederland and the professional association is available on the Vaktherapie Nederland website.
Article 2 — Treatment and Guidance
At the start of treatment, your request for help, wishes, and goals are discussed together. Based on this, a provisional treatment goal is drawn up.
Treatment is evaluated regularly. Where there is reason to do so, the goals, frequency, or content of treatment can be adjusted in consultation.
Therapy is aimed at supporting your personal development and/or reducing complaints and problems. The therapist cannot guarantee a specific treatment outcome. The drama therapist does not make diagnoses according to the DSM-5.
If it becomes clear during the process that another form of support fits your situation better, this can be discussed with you. If necessary, and with your consent, this can be coordinated with other care providers involved.
Article 3 — Duration and Frequency of Sessions
- Individual sessions: usually last 60–75 minutes.
- Relationship therapy sessions: usually last 75 minutes.
- Psychodrama group sessions: last approximately 3 hours.
The frequency of appointments is determined in consultation. To allow for an ongoing therapeutic process, appointments preferably take place with a certain regularity.
Article 4 — Confidentiality
The therapist has a professional duty of confidentiality and handles the information you share during treatment carefully and confidentially. Information is, in principle, not shared with third parties without your consent.
There may, however, be statutory exceptions to this duty of confidentiality. If such a situation arises, this will be discussed with you where possible and appropriate.
In the context of professional intervision, supervision, or consultation, a case may be discussed anonymously, so that the information cannot be traced back to you as a client.
Article 5 — Records and Privacy
Where applicable, information necessary for your treatment is recorded in a client file.
Praktijk bij Fleur handles your personal data and medical/therapeutic data carefully and processes it in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. More information about the processing of personal data can be found in Praktijk bij Fleur's privacy statement.
To the extent provided by law, you have rights regarding your file and personal data, including the right of access.
Article 6 — Emergencies and Crisis
Praktijk bij Fleur does not have a crisis service. In the event of an acute psychological or medical emergency, please contact your GP, the out-of-hours GP service, or — in the event of an acute emergency — 112.
Praktijk bij Fleur is also unable to offer crisis care or 24-hour availability outside the practice's opening hours.
If it becomes apparent during treatment that a situation exceeds what the practice can offer, this will be discussed with you, and a referral may be made to your GP, treatment coordinator, or another appropriate care provider.
Article 7 — Contact
You can reach Praktijk bij Fleur by email at info@praktijkbijfleur.nl and by phone at 06 22 99 52 95. Phone availability is during office hours.
If you are unable to reach us by phone and are not called back, you can leave a voicemail, WhatsApp message, or text message. Messages are not checked continuously or outside regular office hours.
Article 8 — Appointments and Cancellation
A scheduled appointment is considered a reserved time slot. If you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. No costs are charged for timely cancellation.
For an individual session cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, or if you do not show up without notice, part of the session fee may be charged. Different cancellation terms may apply to group sessions, programmes, or other specific appointments. These will be discussed with you in advance.
If the therapist is unable to keep the appointment due to illness or force majeure, the appointment will be rescheduled where possible. In the event of prolonged absence, a suitable solution will be sought in consultation.
Article 9 — Fees and Payment
Current fees for individual therapy, relationship therapy, and group therapy are communicated before the start of treatment and listed on the website. Fees may be adjusted annually. You will be informed in good time of any fee changes.
Invoices are issued at the end of the month, unless otherwise agreed. Where reimbursement through your health insurer is possible, an invoice can be issued after each session for you to submit to your insurer yourself.
You are responsible for checking your reimbursement options with your health insurer in advance. Membership of the Dutch Association for Drama Therapy and affiliation with Vaktherapie Nederland does not automatically mean your treatment will be reimbursed by every health insurer.
Invoices must be paid within 14 days of the invoice date. If payment is not received on time, statutory interest and reasonable collection costs may be charged.
If payment remains outstanding, treatment may be suspended until outstanding invoices have been paid, insofar as this is compatible with the therapist's duty of care.
Article 10 — Group Therapy
When joining a group therapy, information about the duration, content, cost, and payment terms of that group is provided in advance.
Personal information shared between participants within a group therapy is handled carefully. The therapist expects every participant to keep other participants' confidential information within the group.
Article 11 — Client Responsibility
You are expected to provide relevant information necessary for good and safe treatment. If your situation changes in a way that may affect treatment, you are asked to discuss this with the therapist.
Treatment is a joint effort. The therapist supports and guides you based on her professional expertise, but you remain responsible for your own choices and decisions.
Article 12 — Ending Treatment
You may, in principle, end treatment at any time. If the therapist believes that continuing treatment is no longer appropriate or responsible, she may end treatment in consultation with you.
Where possible, an appropriate next step will be discussed when treatment ends, and, with your consent, this can be coordinated with another care provider involved.
Article 13 — Complaints (Wkkgz)
If you are not satisfied with your treatment or the way you have been treated, we invite you to first discuss this with your therapist. Often, a conversation can help resolve misunderstandings or issues.
If you are unable to resolve the matter together, you can make use of the complaints procedure available under the Wkkgz. Praktijk bij Fleur meets the requirements of the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) and is registered with NIBIG under registration number 730217.
For complaints, you can make use of the independent complaints procedure, complaints officer, and disputes body associated with this registration.
Article 14 — Liability and Force Majeure
Praktijk bij Fleur carries out its work carefully and professionally. The therapist cannot be held responsible for consequences arising solely from choices or actions a client makes or carries out independently, outside of treatment.
Any liability of Praktijk bij Fleur is limited to the amount paid out in the relevant case under its professional liability insurance, plus any applicable excess, unless mandatory law prescribes further-reaching liability.
If an appointment cannot proceed due to circumstances beyond the therapist's control (for example, illness or force majeure), the appointment will be rescheduled and no costs will be charged.
Article 15 — Applicable Law
Dutch law applies to the services provided and the agreement between Praktijk bij Fleur and the client.
If any provision of these terms and conditions proves invalid, the remaining provisions will continue to apply as far as possible.
